Ice skating is the self-propulsion and gliding of a person across an ice surface, using metal-bladed ice skates. People skate for various reasons including recreation, exercise, competitive sports, and to enjoy the company of family and friends.
The City of Quesnel Arts and Recreation Department encourages everyone to take advantage of the Public Skate programs available every second Saturday from January 11 to March 29, 2025. There are Friday night Public skates from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 2:30, Adult Noon Hour Skate from Noon to 1:00 pm on Tuesdays to Fridays to the end of March. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am is for adults 55+ Drop-In Skate. Want to play a game of Shinny Hockey, come to the West Fraser Centre Tuesday to Friday 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and try out your skills. Full hockey equipment is suggested, but helmets are mandatory.
